Diversity

We view diversity and inclusion as keys to our future. These values apply to every aspect of our business. Our brands appeal to a diverse array of consumers, and they are sold by an equally diverse group of retail and foodservice partners.

Associates and Careers

At PepsiCo Canada we believe that an inclusive culture that recognizes and values the unique attributes and experiences of every employee is critical to the sustainable growth of our business. That's why Diversity & Inclusion is a strategic priority for us.

Our Diversity & Inclusion strategy is based on valuing all individual differences; including those that are visible and invisible, such as backgrounds, work styles, thought processes and experiences. Our mission is to build a culture that enables people and business results where:

  • Individuals feel they can bring their whole self to work while knowing their contributions and past experiences are valued;
  • Employees are engaged and inspired to drive business results;
  • We attract and retain the best talent, and
  • Our workforce reflects the diversity of our communities.

Our employees play an important role in building a culture of inclusion at PepsiCo Canada by participating in our Employee Networks or Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council.

Employee Networks are employee-led groups typically formed around a common characteristic of diversity and are open to all who want to participate. They support the Diversity and Inclusion strategy by acting as a resource for:

  • Personal and professional development.
  • Informal mentoring, coaching, and networking.
  • Enhancing the organization's ability to recruit and retain talent.
  • Recommending potential program, policy, and cultural changes to support the organization's inclusion strategy.

Our employees have the opportunity to join existing Employee Networks, including the Canadian Women's Network, in addition to a number of global PepsiCo, Inc. employee networks.

The Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council is comprised of employees across divisions and functions who each bring a distinct perspective to the group. This team has a mandate to Influence, Provide Guidance and Support PepsiCo Canada's Diversity and Inclusion commitment.

Customers

PepsiCo was the first major company to engage in multicultural marketing. Today, we continue our leadership in reaching out to consumers worldwide through inclusive programs such as the Pepsi Refresh Project

Suppliers

We are committed to purchasing quality products and services from a diverse supplier base. In 2006, we globally surpassed $1 billion in spending with minority and women vendors. In 2009, PepsiCo’s global spending with minority and women-owned vendors reached almost $1.3 billion.

Community

We support diversity and inclusion in local communities around the world through our corporate giving and community programs. Giving is made through the PepsiCo Foundation (global),PepsiCo Canada corporate contributions and PepsiCo Employee donations. Recipients include global and local organizations that champion and promote diversity and inclusion.
